Key responsibilities include delivering respiratory treatments and interventions following established protocols, maintaining accurate and thorough documentation in patient records, and assuming charge therapist duties when required.

Education and certifications required include obtaining Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials within 36 months of hire if initially hired as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification by the American Heart Association is required.

Experience and skills needed include a solid understanding of medical terminology and modern respiratory care techniques. Candidates should demonstrate calmness and composure in high-pressure situations, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Physical and other requirements include manual dexterity to operate respiratory equipment, visual acuity, stamina to stand or walk for extended periods, and the ability to safely move patients and equipment. Awareness of psychosocial and developmental needs across all age groups, from infants to adults, is important to provide tailored care.
