Job Summary We are looking for a Software Developer Intern to support the development and enhancement of software applications that optimize business operations and improve user experiences. This role provides hands-on experience working with modern development tools and technologies while collaborating with a team of developers to deliver innovative solutions. Job Description We are looking for a Software Developer Intern to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications that help improve business processes and operational efficiency. Working alongside experienced developers, you will gain hands-on experience with software development tools, technologies, and best practices while contributing to the delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions. The internship dates are June 7, 2027 through August 6, 2027 . This internship is a fully remote , full-time opportunity requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week . Candidates must be available during core business hours (typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET) for the entire 9-week duration of the program. Please note that all work must be performed within the United States. This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship now or in the future. What You'll Do Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs of low complexity Analyze user needs and develop software solutions Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency Code and modify applications from layout to function Develop new features and enhance, support, and maintain existing applications Debug identified issues and provide solutions Develop and support systems, solutions, components, and enhancements of low complexity Code new functionality according to specifications Write testable, efficient code using software development best practices Develop and support software system testing and validation procedures Assist in the development of technical documentation Collaborate with team members to determine design specifications and implementation details Stay current on emerging technologies and software development best practices What You'll Need Required: Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field Current Junior with a 3.5 GPA or higher Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities Experience with one or more programming languages Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Experience with relational databases Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation Experience with Microsoft Office applications Self-motivated with a willingness to learn Preferred: Experience with Java Experience with SQL Experience with Visual Studio Physical Demands Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor EEO Statement CAI is committed to equal employment opportunity.
