About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 18:30 - 07:00 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required in critical care or respiratory therapy. License: Ohio RRT License required in hand to submit. Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP. Must-Have: High-risk experience preferred; if no experience, must be open to high-risk training on site. Description: Must obtain NRP prior to start date. Floating required as needed. Therapist will assist in pediatrics and with pediatric emergency patients. Must be comfortable with all ages; does not require specific Pediatric hospital experience. Must provide basic respiratory therapy care to pediatric patients. Responsible for treating and educating all patient populations with diagnoses including but not limited to asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and non-pulmonary diagnoses. Perform general and critical care procedures, including medication delivery, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and hyperinflation therapy. Responsible for initiation, management, and weaning of both invasive and non-invasive ventilation. Conduct airway management, suctioning, cuff management, and ETCO2 monitoring. Assist with intubation and extubation as needed. Maintain indwelling lines and respond to rapid responses and emergency codes, performing CPR when necessary. Conduct blood gas sampling and analysis, specimen collection, and monitor spontaneous breathing parameters. Changing tubing and bags for invasive lines is the responsibility of the therapist on site. Experience in adult critical care and emergency departments is preferred. Familiarity with airway management devices and suctioning techniques is required. Knowledge of medication administration for respiratory conditions is necessary. Experience with various medication delivery systems and nebulizer techniques is required. Must provide oxygen therapy and manage ventilators. Assist in neonatal and pediatric high-risk deliveries as needed. Professional knowledge required includes ABG interpretation and familiarity with specific equipment models. Please note that this position requires flexibility to float as necessary and work well within a multidisciplinary team environment.
