We are looking for a Managing Director to lead production, procurement, and operational performance for our Big Spring, Texas location. This role oversees planning activities, aligns resources across departments, and helps ensure manufacturing goals are met with consistency and efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong business judgment, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to balance cost control, delivery performance, and supplier reliability.
Responsibilities:• Lead weekly and monthly production planning efforts to align output with customer demand, workforce availability, equipment capacity, and material supply.
• Review open work orders, reprioritize schedules as business needs change, and help keep production flow on track.
• Maintain accurate operational data in company systems and use performance metrics to improve delivery, cycle time, and asset utilization.
• Direct procurement activities for key raw materials and machined components while supporting uninterrupted shop operations.
• Oversee purchase order activity, evaluate supplier performance, and build backup sourcing options to reduce supply risk.
• Analyze material pricing patterns and support actions that protect margins and overall budget performance.
• Contribute to operating budgets, forecasts, and cost reviews for workshop activities, including reporting on actual results against plan.
• Partner with engineering, quality, and production leadership to support documentation standards, compliance expectations, and operational execution.
• Prepare recurring production and procurement reports that provide leadership with clear visibility into performance and priorities.• Proven experience leading manufacturing, production planning, procurement, or plant operations in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, capacity planning, inventory coordination, and supplier management.
• Ability to interpret operational KPIs and use data to drive improvements in delivery, efficiency, and cost performance.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and margin analysis.
• Demonstrated success working across engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve business goals.
• Effective leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced operational setting.
• Proficiency with ERP or related business systems used for production and procurement management.
