Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — Onsite 3 days per week at various plant locations, potentially up to 5 days per week during project execution phase; Mondays and Fridays are optional work-from-home days

Contract Details:

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 12 months
• Pay Rate: $60.00–$65.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, standard/core business hours; this is a 24/7 operation and there may be times where it is required to be on-site for longer OT hours depending on the critical nature of the project
• Travel Requirements: Reporting to a Colorado-based facility will be expected 3 days per week. Travel distances can vary based on project assignment, but all travel will remain within Colorado. Overnight stays may be necessary dependent on project activities and plant distance from the Denver Metro area. Lodging, mileage, and travel meals are reimbursable expenses at manager's discretion.

Job Summary

This is a plant fleet-based engineering role supporting an energy supply projects group to help manage capital projects at power plants across the region. This resource will be responsible for managing all emergent capital projects at the plant as well as supporting larger base and major capital projects. The role also supports reliability engineering in helping develop scopes and justifications for projects and putting those through the emergent capital request system/process, and this resource will be responsible for managing all the projects. This resource could be responsible for upwards of 20 small projects going on at one time in addition to supporting some of the larger base capital projects. The formal title for this role is E&C Engineer; however, the position is primarily project management in nature, and the client is looking for someone with an engineering degree and background who will function mostly as a project manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with operations and reliability engineering to learn about plant systems and how they operate, in addition to planning out future work to keep the plants reliable
• Attend morning POD meetings (the group's internal morning meetings to plan out critical items that need to be done that day)
• Collaborate with operations and reliability personnel throughout the day
• Oversee contractors performing and executing on projects in the field
• Manage all administrative project paperwork, including developing scopes of work and technical specifications
• Help obtain quotes for equipment, bid out work if necessary, and coordinate material deliveries and installation with the plant
• Support reliability engineering in developing scopes and justifications for projects and putting those through the emergent capital request system/process
• Manage all emergent capital projects at the plant as well as support larger base and major capital projects, potentially managing upwards of 20 small projects simultaneously
• Interface with internal business customers as well as external customers and vendors as needed
• Interface with external contractors when plant maintenance personnel cannot perform larger scope projects or lack resources to support multiple concurrent projects
• Interface with external consulting engineers and engineering firms as necessary when engineering services are needed
• Lead teams of other engineers, contractors, and vendors while working alongside plant operations and reliability personnel

• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
• Experience using Excel spreadsheets
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment such as a power plant

Preferred Skills

• Experience in SAP preferred
• PE license
• PMP certification
• Has taken or passed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam, or has an interest in doing so

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required (no specific discipline required, as long as it is related to work performed at the plant — mechanical, electrical, or civil preferred; other engineering fields will also be considered)

• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment such as a power plant
• Previous experience managing contractors
• Previous experience with project management, project plan development, charters, and managing budgets
