Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU (Level 3)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights) | Onsite | Holidays, On-Call, Callback, and Charge duties per unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in a 12-bed intensive care unit
• Manage patients with diagnoses including traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, stroke, and other critical neurologic pathologies
• Deliver a high degree of specialized nursing and medical care requiring advanced critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation as required by patient acuity
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as determined by unit needs

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license – NY license required
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an ICU acute care setting
• Telemetry experience required
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• BLS certification through American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association only

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience caring for neurocritical care patients
• Demonstrated ability to remain current in critical care knowledge and best practices
