Software Engineer

Senior Full-Stack .NET Developer | Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid) | Contract-to-Hire We're looking for a talented Full-Stack Application Developer to join our team in Schaumburg, IL. This role is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining core business applications. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in modern .NET / .NET Core for backend services, along with experience in contemporary front-end frameworks — Angular strongly preferred. This is a full-stack role with a primary focus on backend development (~60%) and significant frontend responsibilities (~40%). The position follows a hybrid work model with on-site presence in Schaumburg required. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using .NET / .NET Core, C#, RESTful APIs, and modern UI frameworks Maintain and enhance existing applications, frameworks, and shared libraries Design and implement new features aligned with complex business processes and workflows Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing application support Ensure compliance with security, performance, and architectural standards Contribute to modernization initiatives, including framework evolution and technical debt reduction Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality solutions Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and deployment processes What You'll Need Strong experience with .NET / .NET Core and C# Hands‑on experience with Entity Framework Core (EF Core) and ORM best practices Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and clean architecture principles Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases, including query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, identity frameworks) Frontend & UI Candidates without Angular experience must demonstrate the ability and willingness to ramp quickly Experience building component‑based UI architectures Familiarity with UI libraries such as Angular Material, Bootstrap, or similar Experience with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub, Azure DevOps, etc.) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent) Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred) is a plus Strong understanding of application performance, scalability, and monitoring AI & Emerging Technologies Experience with AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar Exposure to or strong interest in agentic workflows and AI‑driven development pipelines Integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications (nice‑to‑have) Additional Preferred Skills Microservices and distributed systems experience Knowledge of event‑driven architectures (messaging, pub/sub systems) Experience with API gateways and service orchestration Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) Understanding of secure coding practices and enterprise security standards Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders Proactive mindset with strong ownership of deliverables and system quality Nice to Have Experience in insurance or underwriting systems Prior experience in complex, business‑rule‑heavy environments Exposure to legacy system modernization initiatives #J-18808-Ljbffr
