Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift teaching hospital position requiring AZ or compact RN licensure and 2 years of MS/Tele experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit with floating between two MS/Tele units and other units based on facility needs
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7pm-7am
• Patient ratio of 1:4/5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Standard med surg/tele equipment including Liko lifts in most patient rooms

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required (pending accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN preferred
• 2 years of MS/Tele experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Strong MS/Tele skills required; ICU/PCU experience a plus
• Skills in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, wound care, isolation precautions, IV therapy, and central/peripheral line care

Additional Information

• Short-term acute care teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation and 268 staffed beds
• Must be comfortable floating without restrictions, including to nearby affiliate facilities based on census needs
• Candidates must work 2 of the facility's recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• Time off requests subject to unit manager approval, with limited auto-approval for non-holiday RTO days
• No time off permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Travel pairs accepted on this unit
• Previous facility staff must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
