Automated Test Engineer

Test EngineerAs a Test Engineer, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering quality assurance services to support application, cloud, and data systems development. We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years experience with experience with quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile/DevSecOps work environment.ContributionsUnderstand the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developersMeet with product design team to determine testing parametersWrite test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, final QA reports for productsManage test data architecture definition and requestsTroubleshoot errors and streamline the test proceduresTest and examine code written by others and analyze results, including three or more of the following: Data validation testingFunctional testingPerformance and load testingUsability testingAccessibility (508) testingEstablish automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automationProvide validation testing of different system and data sets for cloud migrationsDevelop automated testing scripts considering parallelization and idempotencyAutomate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processesEnsure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsWork with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedDocument as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsLeverage virtualization and containerization to optimize testing software systemsWork with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresent regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team membersAct as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team membersQualificationsAbility to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience3 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket3 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages3 Years of application DevSecOps Experience in an Agile environmentExperience utilizing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes3 Years of Experience implementing test automation, using tools such as Selenium, Appium, Soap UI, RestAssured, PostmanExperience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD PipelinesExperience with performance and load testingExperience in one or more cloud computing environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP)Preferred:Certifications: CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing)International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) CertificationExcellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skillsExperience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsAbout SteampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
