As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google Cloud's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. You will anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

The Area Tech Leads team mission is to establish and drive the architectural outlook for Google Cloud Business Platform (GCBP) to facilitate the scaling of the Google Cloud business. This requires implementing a highly scalable, platform/product-oriented approach to GCBP systems that provides the necessary commercial flexibility for the business teams. As Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical visionary responsible for designing and scaling the core transaction engine of our global commerce platform. You will own the end-to-end architecture from Opportunity to Order and transactional integrity. Responsibilities:

• Own the technical architecture for the enterprise sales systems landscape, ensuring alignment with broader corporate infrastructure and business objectives.
• Design scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions capable of handling enterprise-level transaction volumes, complex multi-currency pricing, and global business processes.
• Architect complex CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solutions and ensure the architecture seamlessly supports downstream billing, revenue recognition, and renewals processes (e.g. Quote-to-Cash).
• Design and optimize the integration of enterprise Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions, including dynamic agreement generation and electronic signature workflows.
• Act as an enterprise architect, providing technical leadership and guiding architecture across an engineering organization.
