The Construction Manager, with the support of a strong local recognized technical staff, will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of project and construction management, managing and coordinating design services during the construction phase, oversee and support our field inspectors and other project assigned staff, manage all project documentation on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, storage facilities and pipelines, or other related type construction projects.This exciting position offers significant growth opportunities and the potential to advance into a leadership role within our dynamic construction management organization.Role accountabilities:The Construction Manager will provide overall construction phase project and construction management services for our projects. This role will also be responsible for coordinating and managing design related services during construction such as submittal reviews, RFI reviews and response and coordinate technical input and guidance to the Owner, change management, schedule management, document management, risk management, quality management and manage project close out. The role will also provide project monthly progress reports, liaison between the owner, contractor and engineering team, serve as the project’s point of contact for the project team and lead and support the resolution of any project issues.Other responsibilities include:Prepare requests for change proposals, review Contractor claims and change proposals, and prepare change orders, work change directive or field orders as required.Monitor the Contractor’s progress per compliance with the contract documents and review and process the Contractor’s applications for payment.Review, analyze and report on contractors CPM baseline schedules and monthly updates.Attend and conduct all related project meetings including the preconstruction conference, project meetings and other related project meetings.Observe all construction activities at key milestones.Conduct substantial completion inspections and prepare project punch lists.Conduct final completion inspections.Review Record Drawings based on the Contractor’s as-built drawings.Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications10 years of project management, water or wastewater pipeline, plant or pump station project experience.Key Skills/AttributesKey skills for this role include; project management of design related services during construction, construction management related services, experience schedule and cost management, identifying, analyzing, and providing recommendations for all project issues, ability to multi-task several projects, priorities and possess solid time management skills, develop project management plans, communication plans and develop strong project teams between owners, contractors and designers. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint, and Outlook) and document management software.Preferred QualificationsPreferred qualifications for this role include; construction management experience in wastewater and water process, storage and conveyance type projects.
