Summary

Spire is seeking a Gas Worker to work in the Lee's Summit, MO operation. This position will be responsible for assisting in the repair, installation, and maintenance of natural gas underground piping.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functions as part of a crew in the Leak and Maintenance Department and on a field-based work crew in the Construction department performing general laboring duties; breaking pavement, excavating, backfilling, compacting, pipe fitting, operating all air and hydraulic tools. Assists field-based work crews with daily duties. All other duties as assigned

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

Ability to obtain a Class E Chauffeur's license before the end of probation and the ability to drive safely. Ability to obtain a CDL Permit before the end of probationary period (90 working days). Ability to obtain certification under the Operator's Qualification Requirements. Ability to work day, mid-day evening shifts and weekends. Effective communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with others. Basic math skills. Ability to apply common sense, collect data and conduct analysis as required to solve certain problems. Ability to provide daily direct service to external customers. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Ability to use pipefitting hand tools. Ability to work hours and days, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary or desirable to meet business needs. Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail. Ability to work all required shifts, including some weekend days.

Regularly performs work outside on customer's property in all weather conditions.
