Bar Ambra is a brand-new bar concept opening inside the Hyatt Union Square, brought to life by Hudson Street Hospitality. We're building an opening team that will set the tone and standard for the space from day one — guest-first, detail-oriented, and genuinely excited about hospitality.
Job Description
Bar Ambra is seeking skilled, creative bartenders to join our pre-opening team. This is a rare opportunity to help shape a cocktail program and bar culture from the ground up at a brand-new Union Square destination inside a major hotel property.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages with consistency and precision
- Maintain deep knowledge of the cocktail menu, spirits, and techniques; contribute ideas during menu development
- Engage guests with warm, confident hospitality and create a memorable bar experience
- Manage bar setup, breakdown, inventory, and cleanliness to high standards
- Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service and all health/safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with servers, barbacks, and management to keep service running smoothly
- Participate in pre-opening training, tastings, and menu rollout
Qualifications
- Proven bartending experience required; upscale bar, hotel, or high-volume cocktail experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, spirits, and bar techniques
- Speed, precision, and composure during high-volume service
- Excellent communication and guest-service skills
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- TIPS or other responsible service certification a plus
- A collaborative, can-do attitude — especially important for an opening team
