American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position in Downers Grove, IL, requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and Epic proficiency on 12-hour night shifts. Requirements Active IL RN license required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC; CPI/MOAB preferred Minimum 2 years of ER experience required; Level 1 Trauma experience preferred but not required Trauma certification required Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, critical care drip management, TPA administration, conscious sedation, and splinting assistance Proficiency in NGT placement, IV starts, Foley placement, and wound care Stroke experience required Epic EMR experience required At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN collected within the last year Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Responsibilities Work in a 313-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center with Magnet Designation, Primary Stroke Center, Comprehensive Cardiac Center, and a Geriatric Accredited ED Emergency Department consists of 28 beds, 11 hallway beds, and 4 triage rooms Patient population is predominantly 65+ with multiple comorbidities, with high volumes of sepsis, DKA, MI, stroke, IVDA, ETOH, and ortho-trauma cases, as well as a heavy psych and addiction population Average ED volume of approximately 120 visits per day RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3–6 based on acuity 12-hour night shifts, 6p–6a, 36 hours per week Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend (or potentially every weekend depending on the requisition) 50% of holidays are required to be worked within the contract period No floating required No on-call responsibilities EMR: Epic (experience required) Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Philips bedside monitors with nurse's station telemetry monitoring First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply ER Techs provide support with POC testing, EKGs, phlebotomy, splinting, and procedure setup Charge nurse is not included in the staffing matrix but is actively involved in bedside care and serves as clinical support Respiratory therapy and hospitalist coverage available 24/7 Orientation consists of a New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 1 shift of unit orientation Scheduling is staff-driven via self-scheduling; available shifts are opened to travelers after the schedule is balanced RTO requests must be approved by the manager Required scrub color: navy blue Free parking available on-site Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
