Cobb - Brood Feed Conv Lead - Bear Hollow Farm

Position Summary This position leads a team in the collection of feed conversion data and the sorting and processing of birds. Responsibilities include catching, loading, hauling, and grading chickens; using barcode scanners, scales, and tablets to record data; and overseeing daily cleaning and disinfecting of house environments. Responsibilities Obtain and collect feed conversion data by catching chickens, loading and hauling them between houses, and using a barcode scanner to record IDs and cage numbers. (40%) Prepare, set up, and break down BFC chicken houses, including spreading shavings, feeding, dumping spent feed, and cleaning shavings. (25%) Sort birds in the brood and grow‑out houses. (30%) Monitor flock environment, collect laboratory samples for health status, and clean/sanitize equipment between work areas. (10%) Dispose of mortality in accordance with animal welfare standards. (5%) Maintain a clean and organized work environment; practice effective communication and organizational skills; maintain 4 attendance points or fewer. Other Duties Operate high‑pressure and regular water hoses to wash equipment. Maintain vehicle: check fluid levels, filters, tire pressure, and clean/disinfect to remove debris. Perform general biosecurity tasks such as showering and changing clothing before entering the facility; wear provided clothing and footwear. Qualifications At least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (increases to 18 months for certain laid‑off or care‑giver gaps). Not a full‑time student for the last 36 months. Rehire criteria: minimum 180‑day waiting period; no more than three previous works at Cobb/Tyson Foods. Must reside in the United States. Schedule Monday through Friday, 5:30am to 1:30pm. Weekend rotation (Saturday and Sunday, 6:00am to 2:00pm about three times a year). Schedule may change based on production needs. Physical Demands & Work Environment Must safely lift and move 25–50 pounds (occasionally up to 50lb) and use wheeled dollies to move up to 500lb of feed or supplies. Stand most of the shift on concrete, walk, sit, use hands, reach, balance, stoop, talk, and hear. Work on wet, slippery, hot, dry, dusty, wet, or cold surfaces. Required vision includes close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Tools & Equipment Hand tools: scalpels, knives, scoops, broom, squeegee. Equipment: computer tablet, barcode scanners, utility carts, scales, safe vehicle operation. Personal Protective Equipment Safety goggles or glasses. Chemical gloves, waterproof apron, cut‑resistant gloves, rubber boots. Optional: ear plugs, arm protectors, NIOSH‑approved N95 respirator.
