Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring strong STEMI intervention experience and comfort with EP devices.

Details

• Work in the Cath Lab of a hospital environment
• Includes both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts (7:30-18:00 or 6:30-17:00)
• On-call required with 10 shifts per month including weekend call
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Performs procedures including Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, Rotablator atherectomy, pacemaker/defibrillator device placement, stent placement, thrombectomy, balloon angioplasty, and PCI
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Uses Siemens X-ray system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant experience required
• Strong experience with intervention and performing STEMI procedures required
• Comfortable using EP devices required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Nursing degree must be from a school accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for cardiac cath lab procedures and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
• Skills include vascular studies, angioplasty, carotid stenting, electrophysiology procedures, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, AICD insertion/programming, and TAVR/Watchman procedures
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Indiana residents are considered local and accepted at a lower pay rate
• Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
