What You'll Do
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgery within the surgical unit
- Assist in OR procedures, including C-sections, Endoscopy, and PACU activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
- Prepare and monitor patients pre- and post-operatively
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards
- Respond compassionately and efficiently to emergent needs or changes during procedures
- Support flexible staffing needs, including relief and emergency assignments
What You Need
Required:- Active RN licensure in Louisiana or eligible for compact licensure
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- 1+ year relevant RN experience, preferably in a hospital setting
- Epic electronic health record experience
- Experience in operating room or perioperative nursing
- Ability to stay committed during emergency or relief assignments
About the Assignment Join a dedicated team in a small rural hospital where your skills will directly impact patient outcomes. The unit supports a variety of surgical services, including OR, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy. Although not a trauma center, the facility occasionally handles ER patients needing surgical assessment. The role involves a consistent day shift, with on-call requirements once a week and every fifth weekend, with a 30-minute response time. The unit fosters a collaborative environment focused on patient safety and continuity of care.
