Job Summary Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley is seeking a Materials Management Associate for a full-time position with 8-hour day shifts. This role is onsite at our Tehachapi, CA location. Responsibilities Stocks and maintains inventory within the healthcare facility to ensure essential medical supplies and equipment are readily available to support patient care and hospital operations. Receives and inspects deliveries; organizes, categorizes, and labels inventory items; maintains accurate stock records and monitors expiration dates; rotates stock as needed and restocks supply areas to ensure department availability. Performs routine inventory checks to identify low stock items and reorders as needed; coordinates with department heads to understand specific inventory requirements. Ensures received items meet quality and safety standards; verifies proper storage and labeling; collaborates with leadership to address quality issues and maintains records of all inventory transactions (receipts, issues, returns). Generates reports to analyze inventory levels and consumption patterns; assists with data entry into the hospital\'s materials management software. Communicates with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries, and resolve issues; collaborates with disaster preparedness to ensure availability of essential supplies during emergencies; maintains contingency stock of critical items. Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and standards, including infection control protocols; implements safety measures in handling, storing, and distributing hazardous materials; supports product recall requirements to ensure patient safety. Trains hospital staff on proper inventory management practices; stays updated on industry best practices and participates in relevant training as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Experience in materials management, inventory control, or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting: Preferred Organizational Requirements Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients.
