VMC MACHINIST - DAY SHIFT

Plymouth, MN

Schedule: Day shift, flexible hours

Pay: $35-42/hr depending on experience

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A precision machining job shop serving aerospace, defense, medical and microelectronics customers is adding a VMC Machinist. The work is short run (typically 1 to 30 pieces), tight tolerance and different every day, in an AS9100D and ISO 9001 certified shop.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Set up and run vertical machining centers to produce high precision parts
Edit programs at the control and prove out new jobs
Select tooling and work holding, set offsets, and adjust feeds and speeds
Inspect your own parts in process and at final using precision measuring tools
Read blueprints, technical drawings and work orders
Keep machines, tooling and your work area in good order

WHAT YOU NEED

Proven CNC mill setup and operation experience, job shop background strongly preferred
Ability to hold tight tolerances on short run work
Comfortable editing programs; full programming is a plus
Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
A steady work history
Must be a U.S. person (work involves ITAR controlled technical data)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Clean, modern job shop. Machinists own their parts from setup through inspection and are encouraged to bring ideas on fixturing and process.
