Join our Team at the Department of Veterans Medical Center, Palo Alto, CA as a Physician - Outreach Section Chief - Palo Alto!
\nMajor duties include but are not limited to:
\n- Understands and follows VHA's "Mission Statement", "Code of Ethics", organizational policies, and
\n structure.
\n - Supervises staff in the Outreach Section.
\n - Provides clinical care in the Outreach Section.
\n - Performs administrative duties in the Outreach Section.
\n - Provides supervision of medical house-staff, and students as needed.
\n - 0.8 FTE of the position will be dedicated to Outreach Section including administrative responsibilities
\n and clinical care. 0.2 FTE of the position will be dedicated to patient care in another Section or
\n - Program as determined by the Deputy Service Chief. The proportions of the FTE listed above can be
\n changed at the direction of the Deputy Service Chief.
\n - Performs additional duties as needed to achieve the VA Mission at the direction of the Deputy Service
\n Chief.

- Expected Salary range from $294,308 to $315,000(negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience). \n
- Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Authorized. \n
- Work Schedule: Full-time, schedule to be determined by supervisor. \n
- Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. \n
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time-off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). \n
- Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. \n
- Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). \n
- Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. \n
- CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). \n
- Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. \n
- Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. \n
