Position Summary

The Cross-Border Warehouse Supervisor (Audit & Customs Compliance) oversees daily warehouse operations with a primary focus on ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and internal audit standards. A core focus of this role is team building; the supervisor will be responsible for recruiting, training, and structuring a high-performing audit and compliance team to ensure accurate inventory control, rigorous documentation review, and seamless cross-border freight movement.

Key Responsibilities

Team Building & Leadership

• Talent Acquisition & Structuring: Define role requirements, interview, and hire specialized personnel (compliance, inventory auditors) to build the department from the ground up or expand existing capabilities.
• Training & Development: Design and implement comprehensive onboarding and continuous training programs covering HS codes, C-TPAT security, and internal audit methodologies.
• Culture of Compliance: Foster a workplace culture centered on precision, accountability, and strict adherence to international trade laws.
• Performance Management: Set clear compliance KPIs for the team, conduct performance reviews, and implement corrective action plans when necessary.

Customs & Regulatory Compliance

• Verify documentation: Ensure all commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and country-of-origin certificates are 100% accurate before cross-border dispatch.
• Regulatory alignment: Maintain strict adherence to customs regulations (e.g., CBP, SAT/Aduanas, C-TPAT, OEA guidelines depending on the border).
• Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies during inspections or inquiries.

Auditing & Quality Control

• Conduct regular audits: Lead daily, weekly, and monthly physical-to-system inventory audits to detect and resolve discrepancies immediately.
• Pre-shipment inspection: Implement and supervise random or targeted cargo audits to ensure physical cargo perfectly matches the digital manifest.
• Compliance reporting: Generate, review, and archive compliance KPIs and audit trail logs for corporate or government review.

Experience

3–5 years in warehouse operations , with at least 2 years in a cross-border / international trade compliance role. Proven experience in team building, recruitment, or leadership is required.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain , or a related field (preferred).

Languages

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred or required depending on the specific border region.

Systems

Proficiency with WMS (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder) and trade compliance software.

Knowledge

Deep understanding of HS Codes, C-TPAT/OEA security criteria, and Customs regulations .
