Environmental Scientist (Compliance)

Environmental Scientist (Compliance) Location: Richmond, VA. This position will be responsible for providing environmental compliance services associated with the construction of data centers, residential developments, commercial properties, utility, and transportation development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Environmental compliance (VPDES) inspections and reporting Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development and auditing Coordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to wetlands, erosion and sediment control and stormwater compliance Best Management Practices (BMP) construction monitoring Virginia Water Protection (VWP) construction monitoring Skills/Requirements Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline At least one year of experience performing Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater compliance inspections and reporting preferred Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision Ability to work independently and with a team Outstanding communication skills Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors Willingness to regularly travel regionally and out-of-state Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater certifications preferred Compensation Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $63,000-$68,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
