Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor 3pm to 11 pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to lead our 3pm to 11pm shift, Monday to Friday, at our Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Vernon, Connecticut. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the general management of our facility's nursing operations, providing optimal care, communicating our facility's policies, and ensuring the general order, safety, and cleanliness of our facility.

Responsibilities:

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut.

• Minimum of three years of additional education or experience in geriatric nursing or rehabilitation; requires at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.

• Knowledge of nursing theory and practice, including the administration of medications.

• CPR certified.

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

• Fluent knowledge of word processing (including Microsoft Office) and other office equipment.

• Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in interpretation of nursing policies and ensures appropriate implementation. Directs and enforces policies and procedures with staff, families, and visitors.

• Supervise and coordinate activities of nursing personnel on assigned shift to maintain continuity of nursing care. Acts as a resource in all areas of clinical care.

• Resolve work-related complaints of charge nurses and CNAs during assigned shift.

• Make rounds on nursing units to ensure maximum care and to ascertain condition of residents. Communicate family concerns.

• Respond to emergencies within the facility and provide medical oversight.

• Verify that all clinical changes are reported to the physician. Verify physicians' orders as needed.

• Secure pre-admission report on new residents and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.

Working Conditions:

• Shift: 3pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday

• Location: Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Vernon, Connecticut

• Full-time position
