BlueStar Resort & Golf – Central Services Main Office BlueStar is a boutique management firm focused on supporting developers, asset managers, and community Boards in the successful operation of their resort and golf amenities. Our expertise is in all aspects of hospitality management, including golf, spa, food & beverage, community clubs, and more, particularly in active adult or age-qualified residential communities. We also provide full‑scale landscape services in some locations. Our portfolio spans literally from coast to coast, with many beautiful locations in between. Where: Located in Scottsdale, Arizona POSITION OVERVIEW: The Senior Operations Manager (SOM) is based in the Central Services office. The primary responsibility of the SOM is to bridge the gap between operational opportunity and operational execution. To do this, the SOM must have deep operational knowledge. Furthermore, the SOM must be able to navigate both systems and personalities well. A successful SOM will work closely with all Central Services leaders to assist them in their efforts to achieve the best possible operational results. The SOM should also be available to work closely with General Managers and, when applicable, Department Heads, to provide them tools and resources to improve their results. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide support to the respective VPs of Operations to ensure they have the tools and resources available to properly guide their clubs Communicate the Core Values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support the achievement of company goals Perform analysis for all aspects of all operations to identify opportunities and/or implement solutions Develop and implement consistent processes and procedures across clubs and VP’s Understand and be able to directly support the systems, processes, and IT needs of all clubs throughout the network Develop and implement analytical tools to help the GM’s do their jobs better Share best practices across Clubs Assist the VP’s in establishing goals and processes for measuring sales, revenue, new projects, and business development for the Clubs Monitor performance to determine whether strategies and plans require adjustment to positively impact revenues and cost controls Identify new opportunities and present those – along with solutions - to the respective VPs of Operations Support the company in its goal to see the BlueStar 10 demonstrated at all times Provide strategic intelligence to partners and clients regarding all Club initiatives, including but not limited to, vision, branding, Food & Beverage, and Operations Assist with budget planning and monitoring support to assure revenues and expenses are achieving and exceeding the Clubs financial sales goals Review and approve short- and long-term strategies and implementation for the Food & Beverage operation Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Must be highly customer oriented and responsive with high need for closure. Must be a role model and able to live our BlueStar core values: Honesty and Integrity Respect for the Individual Teamwork Competitive Spirit MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS: Graduation from a 4 - year accredited college or university or equivalent combination of work experience and education Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a high‑end private club or a portfolio of several clubs. Active Adult, Private Club, and Homeowners Association experience is highly regarded An extensive working background of all operations related to a private club, including but not limited to administrative, maintenance, financial and personnel matters Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, suppliers, and the public Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, portions, and percentages Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment Experience in the hospitality industry a plus. Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) certification (or similar) preferred Computer literate with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Point‑of‑Salesystems, and PC technology Ability to speak effectively before groups of members, customers, or team members Must have excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association Must have planning, problem‑solving, decision‑making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills. Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment Must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment where continuous improvement is expected This position requires a flexible schedule, to include evenings and weekends, with travel Valid driver’s license is required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position generally operates in a professional indoor office environment, but also includes walks around the facility with exposure to outdoor conditions. There is routine use of standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see and hear, speak clearly, and understand the speech of another person, sit, or stand for extended periods of time, walk or be able to move around the office space, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
