You will lead students through inquiry-based discovery methods involving instructor demonstrations, hands‑on activities, and amazing take‑home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us, inspiring the next generation of scientists. This is a part‑time, seasonal position. Pay is hourly for all Areas of Business (AOB), including set‑up and clean‑up time. Starting pay is $22.00‑$25.00 per hour DOE, plus mileage compensation! Responsibilities Facilitating day camps, in‑person workshops, and after‑school science enrichment programs for children from preschool through elementary school Deliver hands‑on, high‑energy, part entertainment/part education programs that meet for one hour each week for approximately 8‑12 weeks Drive to various locations across Los Angeles County and Southern California Attend paid training sessions virtually or at our office Attend the mandatory Friday Staff Meeting every week (paid) Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Be on time for all scheduled activities Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness guidelines Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Must be available a minimum of three consistent weekday afternoons, 12‑5pm. While this is a part‑time position, it is critical that you are able to commit to the length of any given program (school season, camp session, after‑school program, etc.), and that you are able to give us steady weekly availability. Must have an insured, personal vehicle as you will be transporting equipment and conducting programs at schools and organizations across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties Must be available for mandatory Friday meeting, 11am‑12pm Experience teaching/working with groups of elementary‑age (4‑12) children, such as an after‑school teacher or camp counselor Minimum of 1 year of college suggested; degrees and/or graduate degrees are a plus Theatre experience is a plus Maintain a fun, flexible, & outgoing personality Successful Candidates Are Responsible – able to conduct programs safely and efficiently Reliable – always on time, always prepared Adaptable – able to adjust to every environment and group type Flexible – able to function in a business where schedules and workloads vary Professional – comfortable dealing with everyone from parents to principals
