Accessibility Specialist

Interview Type: In person only Interview: Teams + In-Person Final Round Pay Rate: $28.89/hr Job Summary Client is seeking a Communications Compliance Specialist to support accessibility compliance efforts. The candidate will review and update forms, documents, web pages, and digital content to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards. Responsibilities Review documents, forms, PDFs, and web content for accessibility compliance. Remediate and update content to meet WCAG 2.1 standards. Ensure proper document structure, alt text, color contrast, and screen reader compatibility. Work with program teams and web teams to improve accessibility. Use accessibility tools such as WAVE, Axe, and Adobe Acrobat. Perform quality assurance reviews of accessibility fixes. Provide accessibility guidance and training to staff. Track project progress and prepare compliance reports. Required Skills 2+ years of experience in Technical Writing, Digital Communications, or Web Content. 2+ years of experience with WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance. 2+ years of experience using accessibility tools (WAVE, Axe, Adobe Acrobat, etc.). Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent attention to detail and project coordination skills. Preferred Skills Experience with CMS and web publishing workflows. Experience in Government, Public Health, or regulated environments. Experience tracking projects and monitoring progress.
