CVICU - Surgery (RN) - Shifts: 12hr, 06:45-19:15 Job Summary The CVICU Registered Nurse provides high-level, compassionate, and evidence-based care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery, vascular procedures, heart transplants, or other complex cardiovascular conditions. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a critical care setting. Monitor, interpret, and respond to complex cardiac rhythms, invasive hemodynamic data, and other vital parameters. Manage patients requiring advanced therapies such as IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), Impella, ECMO, CRRT, and mechanical ventilation. Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac medications per physician orders and facility protocols. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, etc.) to coordinate and optimize patient care plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing care. Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards. Participate in unit-based quality initiatives and continuing education to maintain clinical competency. Requirements RN license in state of assignment. Minimum 2-year(s) exp. BLS and ACLS required. Experience in telemetry or step-down preferred. Strong assessment, multitasking, and crisis management skills. Hospital settings (Med-Surg units, post-op recovery, step-down).
