Back Senior Accountant Accountant Senior Dallas , Texas Dallas:Fin/Acct/HR:Direct Hire Aug 27, 2026 Position Overview #10952 Our client is a small to mid-size company seeking a Senior Accountant to manage core accounting activities and support the continued development of its finance function. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, completing the monthly close, and ensuring the company remains prepared for audits and reporting deadlines. The position offers a strong growth path for an accounting professional interested in expanding into FP&A over time. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including billing, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations. Complete month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and closing procedures. Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. Administer the corporate credit card and employee expense process, including receipt collection, coding, and reconciliation. Reconcile payroll and employee benefit activity each month. Prepare short-term and monthly cash forecasts. Maintain accurate revenue and expense reporting across departments. Support the annual external audit and respond to auditor requests. Assist with federal, state, local, sales, and property-related tax reporting. Support regulatory compliance, corporate insurance administration, and related documentation. Assist with employee time-tracking, utilization reporting, and purchasing activities. Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready accounting records. Partner with finance leadership on variance analysis, departmental reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Take on additional accounting and analytical responsibilities as the role develops. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting procedures. 4+ years of well-rounded accounting experience, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions. Experience with QuickBooks or a comparable accounting platform. Familiarity with business intelligence, dashboard, or financial reporting tools preferred. Ability to manage detailed transactional work accurately and meet recurring deadlines. Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced environment where responsibilities may evolve. High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information. Genuine interest in developing broader financial analysis and FP&A capabilities. Experience with project, client, or department-based accounting preferred. Exposure to payroll, benefits, expense management, or procurement processes preferred.
