Overview Logan Health Medical Center’s PCU provides primary care to adults with high acuity needs, including cardiac, respiratory, and critical care. The unit emphasizes goal‑directed, individualized nursing care using a structured nursing process. Responsibilities Provide goal‑directed, individualized nursing care, including assessment, treatment, care planning, and medical care evaluation. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to manage patient care and maintain high safety and quality standards. Educate patients and families, serving as a vital link between them and the care team. Respond quickly to changing patient conditions in a 1:3 nurse‑to‑patient ratio designed for high‑acuity care. Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized, goal‑directed nursing care using the nursing process. Transcribe and implement provider orders accurately and efficiently. Problem‑solve issues affecting patient care and maintain infection control procedures. Document encounters in accordance with organizational standards. Provide instruction and education to patients and families per department protocol. Assess and anticipate patient needs and coordinate necessary interventions per policy and provider orders. Qualifications Current Montana RN license or multi‑state compact license authorized to practice in Montana. BSN degree preferred. Minimum of two years experience in a similar position. RQI Provider (BLS) certification required within 7 days of hire or before independent patient care. NIHSS certification obtained within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology, and principles of nursing practice. Strong communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
