Adjunct Lecturer or Assistant Professor - Automotive Technology

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Automotive Technology Program of the Engineering, Physics & Technology Department of Bronx Community College/ CUNY seeks experienced adjunct instructors to teach one or more of the following subject areas: Introduction to Automotive Technology, Engine Repair, Electrical Systems, Brake Systems, Steering and Suspension Systems, Heating and Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission and Transaxle, Manual Drive Train and Axle, Engine Performance, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, Diesel Engines, and Air Brake and Suspension. Assignments will be for Fall 2026 beginning on August 26, 2026. Courses may be taught in the day, evening, or weekend. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Adjunct Lecturer : Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise and the ability to teach successfully. Adjunct Assistant Professor : Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent and the ability to teach successfully. Minimum of 5 years of automotive service experience. Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in the automotive field. New York State Inspectors License. Documented Electric Vehicle service and safety training. Master Automotive Service Excellence certification within 6 months of employment. Preferred Qualifications For Adjunct Lecturer: a Master's degree in a related field and current ASE certifications may be considered. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, especially at the college level, is highly desirable. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification required within 3 months of employment. Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience: Adjunct Lecturer: $112.50 per hour. Adjunct Assistant Professor: $120.83 per hour.
