DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT CARE SERVICES - THE COMMONS AT BRIGHTMORE Liberty Healthcare Management Wilmington, North Carolina, United States About this position Liberty Senior Living is currently seeking an experienced Director of Resident Care Services. Job Summary Assist the Administrator with admissions, including interviewing, assessing, verifying income, and completing all requisite paperwork. Set up new residents in Point Click Care and update as care plans evolve. Assess, develop, and implement individualized care plans for each resident on an ongoing basis. Obtain orders from physicians for each resident and, where appropriate, delegate to Med Techs/LPN under supervision, ensuring orders are followed and documented accurately in Point Click Care. Maintain knowledge of all Liberty Senior Living policies, procedures, and state regulations for assisted living communities. Coordinate medication procurement from Long‑Term pharmacy and oversee medication distribution under proper supervision. Chart medication administration for each resident or delegate to medication technicians as per facility policies. Orient, train, and educate staff on resident care policies, procedures, and use of Point Click Care. Coordinate resident services with other professionals as directed by physicians or care plans. Implement and maintain an infection control program, train staff, ensure compliance, and conduct annual reviews. Order and maintain medical supplies, ensuring accurate accounting for resident charges. Conduct weekly and monthly resident assessments, record vital signs, and administer IM injections, delegating tasks as appropriate with supervision. Coordinate with families, providing regular updates and immediate communication in case of incidents such as falls or illness. Supervise medication administration, ordering, controlled substance counts, and documentation for each resident. Maintain records for supervisors, resident aides, housekeeping, and other staff, including TB screening and Hepatitis B vaccination for all employees. Develop, implement, and train staff on emergency procedures for fire, disaster, and resident incidents. Arrange training for resident rights, infection control, OSHA safety, back safety, needle‑stick safety, and dementia care. Schedule all staff using Workforce Management, arrange on‑call responsibilities, and respond to emergency calls from residents or supervisors. Model leadership and teamwork, cooperating with residents, families, professionals, the Executive Director, department heads, supervisors, and all staff. Perform any additional duties assigned by the Administrator. Remain reachable at all times by telephone or authorized means. Job Requirements Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse. Qualified as Administrator‑in‑Charge or Supervisor‑in‑Charge under assisted living regulations. Experience working with geriatric and dementia residents. 21 years of age or older with a valid, clean driver’s license. Genuine concern for the welfare of geriatric patients. Willingness to delegate, supervise, receive, understand, and follow orders. Ability to collaborate with other nursing staff, departments, families, and visitors. Kind, respectful demeanor toward patients, staff, and visitors. Safe and economical use of equipment and supplies. Neat appearance, adherence to dress code, and good personal hygiene. Familiarity with personnel, departmental, and community policies and procedures. Commitment to attend in‑service training, staff meetings, and complete online training as required.
