The Enterprise Storage Engineer will collaborate on the design and management of advanced storage solutions, extending across software defined storage, and service-model environments. The ideal candidate should be adept at using advanced Software Defined Storage systems, including but not limited to Ceph, Swift, and OpenStack.Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Principal Storage Engineer, you will:Architect the Software Defined Protocol Abstraction Layer to provide unified access via NVMe-oF (TCP), S3 Object, and legacy NFS/CIFS protocols.Design and optimize the Ceph to enforce (N+3) resilience and Rack Awareness, ensuring the "Hardened Storage Vault" can absorb up to 3 simultaneous node failures.Contribute to the design, implement, and administer high-availability storage solutions, spanning SDS and SAN environments, as well as 'Storage as a Service' systems for private cloud environmentsEnsure the seamless integration of storage solutions such as object, block and file storage with bare metal, IaaS, and PaaS services, optimizing performance and scalabilityQualificationsUnderstanding of various storage architectures and solutions, including object storage (with technologies like Amazon S3, OpenStack Swift), block storage (using protocols like NVMe/TCP, iSCSI, Fibre Channel), and file storage (solutions such as NFS, SMB/CIFS)Understanding of and experience with software-defined storage services such as Ceph, Swift, and OpenStackProficiency with data management and storage protocols/services (e.g., Fibre Channel, NVMe/TCP, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS)Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and containerization technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift) and their interaction with underlying storage infrastructuresSolid knowledge of traditional storage technologies and how they integrate with software-defined solutionsFamiliarity with Linux operating systems and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PerlRequired ExperienceDirect experience with Ceph Storage.10+ years of experience in complex storage solution environments, with substantial direct experience in Software Defined Storage engineering and administration.10+ years of proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability storage systems, particularly within Ceph environments10+ years of hands-on experience implementing and managing cloud storage solutions such as direct attached storage and working with formats such as object, block, and file storage solutions10+ years of experience in a storage engineering role, with a focus on software-defined storage solutions in cloud environments5+ years scripting/coding experience in one of the following languages: C/C++ development, Bash, Python or GOBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant additional work experience (typically 4 additional years)PreferredCertifications relating to cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenStack), software-defined storage technologies (such as Ceph), or related areas are highly advantageous.The Company recruits for positions located in the United States and does not market employment opportunities to individuals located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom.
