MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE

****THIS POSITION WILL BE PART-TIME WORKING 16-20 HOURS PER WEEK****

SUMMARY:

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of all buildings operated by Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, Inc. by performing various cleaning duties in, but not limited to, offices, meeting rooms, reception areas, hallways, kitchens/break rooms and restrooms. This position works under the supervision and at the direction of the Maintenance Team Lead.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Restrooms: cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors etc. Replenishes bathroom supplies and polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
2. Floors: sweeps, mops and vacuums floors using brooms, mops and vacuum cleaners. Other floor work may be required such as scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors and the use of other related environmental services equipment may be required.
3. Kitchens/Break rooms : cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves etc. Run dishwasher. Replenishes kitchen/break room supplies.
4. Trash: empties wastebaskets and recyclables and transports to disposal area.
5. Outside: keeps outside sidewalks and courtyard clean and free of debris, sweeps porch, waters and prunes plants, turns fountains on/off.
6. Maintenance/Repairs: conducts light duty maintenance and repairs as needed.
7. Meeting/Event Set Up: Set up, arrange and remove tables, chairs etc. to prepare for meetings/events both within and outside of the facilities.
8. Other Duties: : dust furniture and equipment, wash walls, woodwork, door panels, windows (interior and exterior), sills, fixtures etc. as needed. May empty donation bins.

EXEPECTATIONS:

1. Reports to work each day as scheduled and on time. Works extra hours when needed.
2. Ensures cleanliness of assigned areas by complying with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when using cleaning chemicals, operation equipment, reporting incidents etc.)
3. Provides excellent level of customer service in a professional manner to both internal and external customers and Volunteers.
4. Support the overall culture of the organization.
5. Participate in organization sponsored events.
6. Perform related duties as assigned or as needs arise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
2. Walking, standing, climbing bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, repetitive bending and lifting of items and repetitive arm movements.
