JANITOR (Full-Time & Part-Time/On-Call)

Position Type: Temp to Hire

Position Hours: 2 Positions:


Full Time: 2nd Shift, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday - Friday + Weekend Overtime

Part-Time: 8:00am - 8:00pm, Weekdays and some weekends ((Need to be available for coverage for 1st and 2nd shift, from 8 am - 8 pm. Ideal availability is 7 days but that's not usually realistic. Need to be available on the weekends and at least 3 days during the week.)

Position Salary: $17.00


Summary

Keeps premises of buildings in clean and orderly condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow.
• Delivers messages.
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• Sets up tables and chairs in auditorium or hall.

Education and/or Experience


Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
