Press Operator

Position Overview


The Press Operator is responsible for operating Flexographic printing equipment to produce high-quality label products that meet customer specifications. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Press Operation - Operate Flexographic printing presses to run assigned print jobs.
• Press Setup - Set up press equipment according to job requirements.
• Work Order Review - Read, understand, and follow production work orders.
• Production Prioritization - Use daily dispatch lists to prioritize jobs by due date.
• Quality Production - Produce label products that meet quality and customer standards.
• Efficient Operation - Maintain efficient press operation throughout production runs.
• Material & Tooling Management - Identify and maintain raw materials, tooling, and equipment.
• Production Reporting - Accurately record daily production numbers.
• Quality Checks - Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Troubleshooting - Diagnose and resolve production issues using root cause analysis.
• Work Area Maintenance - Keep work area clean and safe; sweep floors and empty trash as needed.
• Equipment Calibration - Check calibration and notify supervisors if adjustments are needed.

Requirements

• Machining or related work experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of the shift
• Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and participate in training
• Strong attention to detail
• Solid basic math and measurement skills
