MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursue our mission at MSK and around the globe.Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are looking for talented nurses to join MSK's Emergency Center! The Emergency Oncology Service provides emergent and comprehensive patient-centered care to MSKCC'S patients, families, and staff 24 hours, 7 days a week. Patients are triaged/evaluated, and a decision is made to admit, discharge, or place a patient in observation status in the Clinical Decision Unit (CDU).MSK's Emergency Room (ER) operates 24/7, managing 80–100 patients daily. This unit does not handle trauma or 911 calls but provides urgent care for registered MSK patients. Once stabilized, patients are typically transferred to Cornell. The ER functions with ICU, Stepdown, Telemetry, and Med/Surg capabilities, and admits about 50% of its patients.Role Overview:Implement the nursing process for medical and surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and nursing interventions in our Urgent Care Center.Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate continuity of care.Provide outstanding patient-centered care to our patients and unregistered patients.Deliver care to employees who are injured on the premises.Key Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required)Active New York State RN license requiredActive BLS Certification requiredMinimum 1.5 years of RN experienceCritical Care/ Emergency Department and/or medical oncology experience highly preferredCore Skills:Willing to take action and eager to embrace new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.A good decision-maker, with proven success at making timely decisions that maintain high standards of nursing care within the organization.Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged, using both formal and informal development.Approachable and comfortable with diverse groups of people and able to make others comfortable with you.An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.Additional Information:Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NYSchedule: Three 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday, rotating weekends and holidays.
