Electrical Assembler I

Position Summary Under general supervision, the Electrical Assembler performs electrical assembly, installation, troubleshooting, and testing operations on moderate to complex hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Essential Duties Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Follow written and verbal instructions. Maintain a positive attitude and create positive working relationships. Use safety equipment correctly and practice daily. Perform material handling duties (part identification, loading trucks, basic rigging). Operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools related to machine building. Attend all required team and company meetings. Keep work area neat, clean, and organized through continuous 7S efforts. Read and interpret basic wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, and work orders. Label, wire, and connect switch boxes and control panel terminal boards. Assemble basic electrical or electronic systems, support structures, and install components, units, subassemblies, and wiring. Check wiring for proper coding, termination, shorts, grounds, and continuity. Demonstrate knowledge of 3‑phase wiring (polarity of each leg). Assist in dismantling and preparing final products for customer shipment. Work independently with supervision (self‑starter). Assist higher‑level assemblers in the assembly process. Provide input on quality, cost, and production issues. Assist in detection of defective material and report to supervisor. Understand common shop standard practices and lean principles. Identify electrical fittings (metric vs. standard) and conduit types (flex, EMT, rigid). Assemble junction boxes, op stations, and panels for multiple product lines. Military, trade school, or community college coursework in mechanical/electrical assembly, repair, and troubleshooting desired. Physical Requirements This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to see and assess drawings, hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals, read, write, and communicate effectively, and perform movements such as reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and bending. Tasks include lifting up to 50 pounds and working on ladders up to 12 feet tall. Work can involve sitting for up to three hours, standing on feet for up to three hours, repeatedly lifting, and maintaining balance. Employee Equipment Must provide an assortment of tools in a rollaway toolbox and wear steel‑toed boots. Compensation $20 hourly.
