Clinical Research Nurse, Clinical Operations

Overview Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) supporting Principal Investigators in the day‑to‑day activities of clinical research studies. Requires an active clinical RN license. Performs complex participant interaction and comprehensive data collection. Responsibilities Assist PI with study feasibility assessment, eligibility determination, and guidance for clinical data collection. Recruit, enroll, and retain participants; manage data collection, processing, and resolution of discrepancies. Lead research coordination for the emerging central coordinator pool and support portfolio staffing. Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations, sponsor guidance, and institutional policies. Maintain current CITI, GCP, Human Subjects Protection, and other mandatory certifications. Adhere to IRB requirements and VCU policies; ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Serve as a resource for clinical research information for the team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and active RN licensure. Two or more years of experience supporting data management activities, or equivalent education and training. Experience with EDC software, XML, OnCore, EMR (Cerner or EPIC), REDCap, and DEEP6A. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, Visio, Smartsheets, and Adobe. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to provide personal transportation to meet patients within the service area. Visa sponsorship is not available. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Three or more years of experience supporting data management activities, or equivalent education and training. Experience interpreting complex protocols and regulations. Current knowledge of oncology treatment and care. Three or more years evidence of effective communication with research participants and patients. Training in or knowledge of CITI or equivalent human‑subject regulations. Certification from SOCRA, ACRP, or CRA. Salary Commensurate with experience; minimum $68,000.
