• Allied Health Certifications: ARRT(RT)

Position Summary

The Registered Radiologic Technologist position is responsible for safely performing accurate diagnostic imaging examinations in the radiography modality within outpatient settings.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians.
• Gather relevant patient history and testing results.
• Document imaging exams in electronic health records and PACS.
• Check schedules for add-ons, changes, and order accuracy.
• Assist in scheduling patients for tests and provide proper instructions.
• Contact providers for new and updated orders.
• Register patients as necessary.
• Perform phlebotomy and run in-house lab tests.
• Prepare lab samples for shipment.
• Complete other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Two-year degree in radiography required.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
• BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Must be ARRT registered and maintain certification.
• Must hold and maintain a Wisconsin Radiography license.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers is required.
• Requires strong assessment, evaluation, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated IV competency is necessary.
• Knowledge of radiography and human anatomy is essential.
• Self-starter with excellent compassion and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities and problem-solving skills are required.

Physical Abilities

This position involves physical activity on a continual basis:

• Requires effective oral and written communication with patients, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Involves repetitive movements and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
• Involves reaching, lifting, bending, and the ability to read a computer screen and fine print.

Work Environment

Typical conditions include exposure to moderate noise levels and mechanical moving parts. There may also be exposure to potentially hazardous bodily fluids.
