Duties

Help

• Operates a small full-service bar, mixing and serving the full range of alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Records sales, makes change or prepares charge slips in accordance with operations procedures. Stocks bar. Keeps bar, utensils, equipment and work area clean and sanitary. Receives and checks quantity and description of stock.
• Uses tact and courtesy to deny further sales to persons whose conduct has become unruly or who appear to be intoxicated.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Must meet state/local age requirements (21) at the time of appointment if serving alcoholic beverages.
• Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
• Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• Physical Effort: Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionaly lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Stands for prolonged periods.
• Working Conditions: Work is primarily indoors. Exposed to cuts and bruises.
• Uniforms and name tags are provided and required.
• Work may be indoors and outdoors to support the needs of the activity.
• Operations is 7-days a week. Shift will vary due to mission. Ability to work evenings, weekends, shift work, and Holidays to support facility resident needs and/or community events.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

1. Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcohol at the time of appointment.
2. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds.
3. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
4. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
5. Ability to monitor and direct the work of other bar staff.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

• Possess a minimum of one (1) year of bartending experience.

Allowances and Differentials

• This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
• Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
