Position Summary Provides academic advising and enrollment support for College of Arts and Sciences students, helping them navigate degree requirements, curriculum planning, and university policies. Supports student success by connecting students with campus resources, assisting with orientation programs, maintaining accurate advising records, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and campus partners. Contributes to student retention efforts and assists with special projects within the CASA office. Key Responsibilities Advising (60%) Maintain regular communication with entire caseload, sharing time‑sensitive reminders and updates to facilitate student success. Meet individually with every advisee in caseload at least twice each term. Prepare and file accurate and thorough Advising Records. Comprehensive & up to date knowledge of all student support services available. Comprehensive & up to date knowledge of all CAS curricula. Comprehensive & up to date knowledge of all UNCG & CAS policies & procedures impacting students. Student Success & Retention Initiatives (15%) Connect students with campus resources, provide proactive outreach and support, identify barriers to success, and contribute to retention and persistence efforts. Orientation and Enrollment Services (15%) Support orientation programs, registration processes, and transition initiatives for new, transfer, and continuing students. Liaison to CAS Departments (10%) Serve as primary liaison to assigned CAS Departments, facilitating open communication to support student success. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of experience in academic advising in a college or university setting. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in humanities, social sciences, higher education, student affairs, counseling or a related field. Good working knowledge of Banner, MS365, and Starfish.
