Controller

Our client, a leading Brooklyn, New York-based niche maintenance company, is seeking an experienced, highly organized, hands-on, and operationally driven Controller to oversee and manage all aspects of the company’s financial operations, accounting processes, administrative infrastructure, compliance functions, operational reporting, client financial management, and internal controls.

We're looking for someone who can manage executive-level financial strategy and high-volume day-to-day accounting in a fast-paced contracting and service-based environment.

• The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership, analytical, operational, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, while maintaining accountability, professionalism, ownership, and the ability to work independently across multiple entities and departments.
• The Controller will be responsible not only for financial reporting and accounting oversight, but also for operational coordination, collections management, vendor compliance, onboarding support, banking management, process implementation, client retention support, insurance administration, financial cleanup initiatives, and cross-department operational assistance.
• This role requires an individual who can maintain structure, enforce procedures, improve operational efficiency, maintain accurate records, support ownership and management, and ensure all financial and operational systems continue to function effectively and consistently.

Qualifications

Accounting Degree, MBA/CPA major plus

7-10 years of experience as Controller or similar role

Experience managing multiple entities or related companies simultaneously and implementing accounting controls and operational procedures

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities

Experience working directly with banks, attorneys, vendors, insurance carriers, consultants, and external accountants

Ability to lead operational and financial process improvements
