Our strength is our peopleWe invite you to explore a challenging and rewarding career at Martinrea in Dresden, ON.BenefitsCompetitive SalaryHealth Insurance Dental Health InsuranceVision InsuranceRRSP MatchJob Summary: This role provides leadership and direction to the Maintenance department and its staff members.  Required Qualifications:College courses in Maintenance related discipline; Millwright or Electrical certificate of qualification is preferredStrong communicator in the English Language, both written and oralMinimum 3 - 5 years' experience in Maintenance position in industry;Must have experience in welding facilityProficient in Microsoft officeHigh level of time management and organizational skillsAbility to lead a teamStrong technical and problem solving skillsFamiliar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations Critical Success Factors: Excellent attendanceAbility to interact with the Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performanceDesire to learn the business, understand the production process by walking the floor, and participating in production meetingsA complete hands on approach is required to assist the plant in developing into a successful and profitable division of Martinrea, a multi-billion dollar companyAbility to work independently without supervision and with minimum directionAbility to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leaderAbility to manage and direct subordinates on the day-to-day tasks in a fast paced environmentAbility to mentor and guide subordinates to achieve overall departmental goals and objectivesRespecting and understanding of the Customer/Supplier relationshipAdopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknessesEnsure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe conditionResponsibilities: Supervise, train, develop and conduct evaluations of the Maintenance departmentSupervise maintenance related functions:PM program/ schedule that ensures machine robustness along with the coordination of production schedule needsEnsure all equipment and tools are maintained properly to avoid interruption of production and to minimize unnecessary downtimeAnalyze machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problemsEnsure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtimeMaintain maintenance related recordsTo co-ordinate with outside contractors on equipment repairs and to source the most effective repairs and upgrades costProvide input and ensure completion of CI projectsAble to stand in for Maintenance Manager in absenceEnsure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in Maintenance department (e.g. labor, overtime, equipment, travel, etc).Maintains clear written recordsCreates and ensures a safe and secure work environmentAchieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by the Maintenance ManagerContribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory and operational expense.Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee HandbookDecision Making and Authority:Oversee the following positions on a functional level (follow up and determine compliance):Maintenance AssociatesWeld TechsMaintenance ApprenticesWorking Conditions Plant Floor OfficeEffort/Physical Demands Constant communication with employees, peers, and managementHealth and Safety Responsibilities Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the companyBack-up Duties: Perform other duties as required
