The Auburn Davis Center for DBT is dedicated to providing high-fidelity, compassionate, and evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy to individuals navigating emotional sensitivity and reactivity, with diagnoses ranging from depression, anxiety, and ADHD to complex trauma and other co-occurring challenges. Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and dedicated DBT Therapist to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive DBT services, including individual therapy, skills training groups, and between-session phone coaching. The ideal candidate is someone who balances unwavering empathy with firm, effective therapeutic boundaries, has experience working with diverse clinical presentations, and thrives in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Caseload: Maintain an active and sustainable caseload of 15 to 25 individual clients , utilizing high-fidelity DBT protocols.
• Intake & Onboarding: Responsibly manage the initial clinical contact, screening, and scheduling of new clients to ensure a smooth, welcoming entry into our program.
• Skills Groups: Facilitate or co-facilitate up to 2 weekly DBT skills training groups (covering Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness).
• Phone Coaching: Provide structured, brief, as-needed phone coaching to clients during designated hours to assist with real-time skill generalization.
• Consultation Team: Actively participate in our weekly DBT Consultation Team meetings to share clinical perspectives, receive mutual support, and ensure adherence to the DBT model.
• Documentation: Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation (intakes, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries) in compliance with professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted clinical license in the state of California (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or licensed Psychologist). Associate-level candidates nearing the completion of their required hours (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) with dedicated, supervised DBT experience are also welcome to apply.
• DBT Training: Formal training in intensive or foundational Dialectical Behavior Therapy (via Behavioral Tech or a similarly recognized training body) is highly preferred.
• Clinical Competence: Comfort and experience working with high-acuity clients (including chronic suicidality and non-suicidal self-injury) as well as individuals presenting with a wide range of diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other complex mental health conditions.
• Organizational Skills: Strong self-management skills to handle scheduling, prompt documentation, and caseload tracking independently.
