Location Avera McKennan Hospital Job Type & Shift Regular – Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range $27.75 - $41.25 per hour (actual pay rate dependent upon experience). Position Highlights Potential $6,000 sign‑on bonus. Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm; 72 hours per 2 weeks. Student Loan Repayment Program: extra monthly payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera. Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends to understand patient conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; noting changing conditions and needs; re‑evaluating care objectives. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and conferring with physicians. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors; conferring with family and friends; establishing nursing diagnoses; defining objectives; scheduling interventions. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals; instructing patients, families, and friends to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes against standards, reviewing records, noting changes, re‑evaluating objectives, and modifying the care plan. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled‑substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations; alerting others to potential concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Maintain patient care equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Maintain patient care supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Required Education, Licenses & Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing license in the state of practice (active upon hire).
