Custodian (Part Time)Reports To: Facilities And Parks CoordinatorNature Of WorkThis is a part-time, morning shift position providing custodial maintenance at the Mt. Lebanon Public Library. The shifts are Tuesday through Friday mornings (3-4 hours per shift), and one flexible weekend shift.Essential Job FunctionsCompletes Custodial Services as directed by Facilities Coordinator.Performs cleaning of toilets, sinks, counters, floors, mirrors, and water fountains.Re-Stocks paper, soap, sanitizer, sanitary napkin liners, and can liners as needed.Vacuuming, dusting, organizing supply stock room.Trash Removal and hauling to dumpster locations.Maintains regular and punctual attendance.All tools, materials, and safety equipment will be provided.Other Job FunctionsPerforms all other work as assigned.Required Knowledge And SkillsKnowledge of general building operationsKnowledge of PPE, general hand tools, mop buckets, and other custodial equipmentKnowledge of basic cleaning chemicals used in facilities – training providedInterpersonal skills.Required Education, Training And ExperienceHigh school diploma/G.E.D.One year of experience in facilities maintenance preferred but not required.CPR/AED Certification – able to be obtained on the job.Essential Physical Job FunctionsThe employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb; use hands to handle, or feel equipment and supplies. The employee will need to be able to regularly stand for long periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight and verbal communications to prepare and communicate appropriate activities.While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and outdoors and must be able to function and tolerate various environmental conditions including rain, heat, humidity and cold. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment and will work with toxic, caustic or otherwise harmful chemicals such as degreasers, cleaners, and solvents.
