Nurse PICU (Pediatric ICU) These positions are located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Recruitment or relocation incentives may be authorized. Responsibilities Major duties include: Delivering advanced, specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients ranging in age from neonate to 18 years. Providing support to physicians during complex and potentially life-threatening procedures. Preparing and administering high-risk medications as well as intravenous fluids. Assessing patients cardiac output, vital signs, peripheral perfusion, and level of consciousness. Assessing the effectiveness of nursing interventions based on patient responses. Designing family nursing care plans to support critically ill patients and their families. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications To qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below: Basic requirement for Nurse (Clinical/Critical Care Expanded Functions): Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse. Foreign Degree: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Education/Experience: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Nursing from a professional nursing program and possession of at least one full year of professional nursing experience providing critical care nursing to pediatric, adult, or medical-surgical patients; administering medications; and operating specialized medical equipment.
