Our Home is seeking a Mixer to join our team of manufacturing professionals on 2nd Shift. The Mixer prepares dough according to established formulas, production schedules, and quality standards. This role measures and loads ingredients, operates mixing equipment, monitors dough consistency and temperature, documents production information, and maintains a clean and safe work area. The employee works closely with production and quality personnel to support an efficient, consistent, and food-safe manufacturing process. The typical work schedule for the Mixer on 2nd shift is 3:00pm to 11:30pm M-F. Must be available and dependable for occasional overtime (coming in early or staying later) and Saturday work.

Key responsibilities

• Review the production schedule, batch sheets, formulas, and special instructions before beginning each batch.
• Verify ingredient identity, lot information, condition, and required quantities before use.
• Accurately weigh, measure, stage, and add ingredients in the correct order.
• Operate dough mixers, ingredient-handling equipment, scales, timers, and related production tools safely.
• Monitor mixing time, speed, dough temperature, texture, hydration, and overall consistency.
• Make only authorized process adjustments and promptly report ingredients or dough that do not meet specifications.
• Transfer completed dough to the next production step while preventing contamination, product loss, and unnecessary delay.
• Complete batch records, ingredient usage records, traceability information, downtime records, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow allergen-control, sanitation, food-safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform changeovers and clean mixers, utensils, containers, floors, and surrounding work areas according to sanitation procedures.
• Inspect equipment before use and report leaks, damage, unusual noise, or other mechanical concerns.
• Communicate material shortages, quality concerns, equipment issues, and production delays to the supervisor.
• Support efficient workflow by minimizing waste, following standard work, and assisting team members as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous food manufacturing, bakery, mixing, batching, or machine-operation experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow formulas, batch sheets, work instructions, safety rules, and production schedules.
• Basic math skills, including weighing, measuring, counting, and recording production information.
• Ability to recognize differences in ingredient condition and dough consistency.
• Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with production, quality, sanitation, warehouse, and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to reliably work 2nd shift.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
• Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Lift and handle ingredients, containers, and production materials within company-established weight limits, with lifting assistance or mechanical aids used when required.
• Work around moving equipment, flour or ingredient dust, production noise, and hot or cool conditions.
