Lotus Domino / Notes Developer (Legacy Archival & Decommissioning)

We are seeking an experienced Lotus Domino / Notes Developer to support a critical legacy system retirement initiative. This role focuses on enabling the archival of historical construction project data from a Domino 9 environment into structured, long-term formats (PDF/XML) to support the secure decommissioning of an aging Windows-based server. This is a high-impact, finite-scope engagement tied directly to infrastructure risk reduction and long-term data accessibility.

Analyze existing Domino/XPages web-based applications and legacy HTML forms. Re-engineer web-based forms into Lotus Notes client-compatible forms. Ensure accurate rendering and functionality within the Notes client to support export processes. Preserve original business logic, workflows, and data structures. Support and optimize data export processes to PDF and XML formats. Validate archival outputs for RFIs, meeting minutes, submittals, and full project lifecycle documentation. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of archived data for long-term reference. Review legacy applications developed between 2000–2015 and later modernized with XPages. Identify architectural dependencies, constraints, and risks. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and complete remaining form conversions (~50% backlog). Continue and complete work initiated by a prior third-party partner. Document conversion standards, development approach, and final outputs. Test converted forms in the Lotus Notes client and validate compatibility with archival tooling. Perform post-conversion data integrity checks.

Strong experience with Lotus Domino (v9 or similar) and the Lotus Notes client. Hands-on development experience with XPages. Proficiency in LotusScript and/or Java within Domino. Experience using Domino Designer. Proven experience converting, modernizing, or maintaining legacy Domino applications. Understanding of data archival, export, or migration processes. Experience working with structured outputs such as XML and PDF.

Experience with Domino decommissioning or legacy system retirement initiatives. Exposure to construction project management systems or workflows (RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes). Experience interacting with older Windows Server environments. Familiarity with legacy HTML-based applications.

This is a contained, high-value engagement with clear deliverables and direct business impact. The work completed in this role enables secure system shutdown, reduces infrastructure risk, and preserves decades of critical construction data for future reference.

Remote, part-time engagement with very flexible hours. The role can be structured at approximately 5–20 hours per week depending on availability, with a total remaining effort of roughly 80 hours.

Single-round technical discussion focused on Domino experience, legacy form conversion, and archival/export work.
