About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: CPI preferred Epic charting experience preferred Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the medical and telemetry unit. Shifts will consist of three 12-hour night shifts. The schedule is Monday through Friday. No call or weekends are required. The average daily census is 16 to 18 patients. The unit has a total of 24 beds. The staffing ratio during nights is 1:5. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Floating within the service line is required. First-time travelers are accepted. This role involves care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients. Patients may require telemetry monitoring for non-acute cardiac conditions. Advanced medication infusion is included without titration increases; decrease or weaning is allowed. Care excludes patients with active and unstable gastrointestinal bleeding. Patients with uncontrolled ischemic chest pain and unstable vital signs are also excluded. The role requires proficiency in EKG rhythm identification and management of non-titrating cardiac drips. Neurological assessment and care of acute ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack patients are important components of this role. All RNs must have ACLS certification by compliance deadlines. Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing for masks. Travelers must complete labs within 48-72 hours of signing. Modules are required for onboarding, and these must be completed before the start date to avoid delays.
